The new house

The new house is starting to take shape.

I went up on Thursday and the bricklayer was there bricking in two side windows in the new kitchen/diner. Apparently the doorway from the utility to the existing kitchen has been bricked up today and a new doorway made from the new kitchen to the utility room. work starts on Laura's bathroom on Monday. So it's starting to take shape. I really ought to start taking Laura for drives up there so it's not a total shock when we move in there!

We're planning on moving in on 18th April or thereabouts. Laura is at Glenfield that weekend so that's convenient. The existing occupiers are due to move out by 1st April. At the moment they can't move to their new place as the existing occupiers there have nowhere to go, so it looks like they will have to rent. We discussed this as a possibility a few months ago (thank goodness) but didn't expect it to be a reality. Hopefully this won't become a problem for us.
