Laura is 10 years old and has Dravet syndrome. This is a rare neurological condition caused by a genetic mutation on the SCN1A gene. This has resulted in complex epilepsy, autism, ADHD, ataxia and severe learning difficulties. Laura is non verbal and walks unsteadily but is a very happy and mischievous girl who loves everybody and enjoys life.

Gardening
Laura has taken to picking flowers! She likes the tactile experience and thinks the hens should do as she gave them some yesterday, I'm not sure what they thought of the pink petals scattered on their floor!
